Life at ISU
The ISU campus is like a botanical garden. The campus is lush and green with beautiful birds and even monkeys.
The school moved to its current site in Lubowa in 2001. Formerly a coffee plantation, the school has been purpose built. Classrooms and other facilities are spread around the 33 acre site.
At ISU we believe in educating the whole child and our facilities provide the opportunities to do this. We have a state of the art Science Centre, a full size football pitch and track, a 25m swimming pool, four tennis courts, a golf range and three basketball courts. These facilities are used as part of the curriculum but are also available for student and parent use after school and during the weekend.
ISU offers a wide range of extra curricular activities for students from EC2 – Grade 12. These include arts, sports, academics support and cultural activities.
ISU is an active participant and host of International Schools Association of Kampala (ISSAK) events which include basketball, football and volleyball leagues for students of all ages. ISU is the only school in Uganda that is a member of the International Schools of Southern and Eastern Africa (ISSEA) league. Our senior school students have the opportunity to complete against other international schools in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Mozambique in volleyball, football, basketball, tennis, golf, STEM activities, choir and drama.
