“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” –Pablo Picasso
ISU’s new Arts Centre is designed to give our students a haven to artistically express themselves. We believe that the arts are as important as any other subject so we need a state-of-the-art facility for students to learn and perform in.
The Arts Centre, which will be one of its kind in Uganda, will provide purpose-built teaching spaces for visual arts, music, drama and dance for all ISU students. The Arts Centre will include a 430-seat auditorium, 2 art rooms, 3 music rooms, a recording studio, a drama room and a dance studio. These will provide wonderful performance spaces for the ISU community and will also be available for the wider Kampala community to use.
ISU held a celebratory groundbreaking ceremony for the new Arts Centre on Thursday, 14th June, 2018. Since then there has been a significant amount of work taking place and we are looking forward to the facility being completed in the 2019-20 school year.
ISU is offering music as part of its International Baccalaureate Diploma (DP) next school year 2019-20. Talented musicians are also welcome to applying for a merit based scholarship to study their IB Diploma at ISU.
