The Board of Directors is responsible for the long-term educational and financial health of the school. The Board is composed of seven elected members, one US Embassy appointed member and one member appointed by the Board. Elected members serve two-year term which maybe extended for a third year if the Board feels this is in the best interest of the Board. Board members may serve consecutive terms upon re-election. However, due to the transient nature of the job assignments of many ISU parents in Kampala, the Board posts vacancies that need to be filled as they arise.
The Board has four standing committees: Finance, Governance, Facilities and Marketing and Community Engagement Committees.
The Board now seeks candidates from within the ISU Community. The Board is particularly looking for expertise in Finance , Construction, Legal Matters and Institutional Greening Initiatives. Interested candidates need to:
1) read through the Board Election Procedures;
2) seek the sponsorship of two current Association members; and
3) complete the Nomination Form here, and which is also available in the office of the Head of School.
The deadline for returning the nomination form to Haidee Buzu Nantayi (email@example.com), Secretary to the Board, is Tuesday, 30th April, 2019. Voting will take place electronically, during the week leading up to the Annual General Meeting on Thursday, May 16, 2019. An opportunity to vote will also be presented at the AGM for those that have not voted prior to this date. Results of the election will be announced at the end of the AGM and via email to the Association the following day.
