October 8th 2015, the day before Independence Day, is when ISU celebrated the fifty third anniversary of Uganda's Independence. ISU is proud to announce that Brian Kiiza, the ISU Scholarship Student in this year's senior class, was awarded the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship to attend University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
During March 20 and 21st, ISU participated in the inaugural ISSEA STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) competition, which took place at the International School of Harare (HIS) in Zimbabwe. Both the STEM club and this ISSEA competition are the products of an exciting collaboration between ISU and HIS...
ISU welcomed the 175 athletes and coaches from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe for the ISSEA Basketball Tournament from 26-28 February 2015. In a stunning display the players showcased their outstanding skills and sportsmanship. The ISU girls team and the AISJ boys team were crowned the champions of the tournament. The Festival of World Cultures on Wednesday was spectacular event with the Parade of Nations, the Assembly, and cultural workshops, culminating in the elaborate PTA World Lunch. To view a slideshow of images, please click on the link.
ISU took part in the annual ISSEA Band festival that took place in Johannesburg, South Africa. This was only the second year it was being held and what a festival it was! Please click on link to view a slideshow of images.
The ISU community saw the reboot of the full school musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Students from grades 2 to 12 worked together to create a stunning performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical classic. Click on link to view a slideshow of images from the musical.
Catherine Namwezi, ISU's first scholarship student won the annual prestigious Margaret Sanders scholarship. This is awarded for perseverance, motivation and cultural understanding. She was also recently accepted into Hope College in Michigan, U.S.A. Congratulations to Catherine on her numerous achievements.
