Semester in Review from the Head of School
We started the year strongly, welcoming 7 new teachers and 53 new families to our community. Our enrollment proved very healthy this year. We began the year with a community “Wine and Cheese” welcome from the PTA. Open Houses in both schools followed which enabled families to meet teachers and better understand our programs. The ISU family day was a very enjoyable event which featured a PTA organized barbecue, meetings to talk about our IB and language programs and a theatrical performance by our students. Read more...
The ISSEA Volleyball and Soccer Tournaments hosted in Johannesburg and Lusaka respectively were extremely successful with ISU teams taking three second places and a fourth...
The Class of 2011 graduated on Friday 27th May. The 38 graduating students processed into the decorated sports hall at 4.15pm in front of a crowd of family, friends, ISU faculty and alumni. This year, the school orchestra accompanied them with Pomp and Circumstance.
Ugandan Scholarship student, Catherine Namwezi, has been honoured by the US Government in being selected as one of 30 dynamic Ugandan students who will serve on the “Ugandan Youth Advisors to Washington” program.

ISSEA - Soccer and Volleyball Tournaments
ISSEA this year was hosted by Lusaka, Zambia for Soccer and Johannesburg, South Africa for Volleyball. ISU teams competed against 6 other international schools from Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe. The tournament lasted 3 days, where our boys teams competed to bring back the winners trophy and our girls teams fought for the 1st place prizes that they came so close to winning last year. Click to view results of the Volleyball matches and Soccer matches.
IB Exam Results for 2011
CONGRATULATIONS to our IB students and THANK YOU to our faculty. ISU students scored very well on the May, 2011 exam session. Four ISU students scored 40 or more, the top 4th percentile of scores worldwide. Our highest grade was 43 (out of a possible total of 45). 92% of our Diploma students received full IB Diplomas (surpassing the international pass rate of 78%). In addition, our average (31 points) was above the international average (30 points). We are proud of our students for their hard work and of our teachers for their dedication to our program.
Student Enrolment
