Christina McConnell Scholarship for Ugandan Citizens

The International School of Uganda (ISU) invites applications for its Scholarship Programme to study the renowned International Baccalaureate Programmes. The prospective candidates are Ugandan nationals of secondary school age who are from a socio-economically disadvantaged background, who are strong academics, have the potential to thrive in an international setting and become a future leader in Uganda.

ISU will offer a full scholarship covering 100% of the school fees.

Applications for the 2026-27 are now CLOSED. 

ISU Merit & Needs-Based Scholarship Programme: 2026-2028

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for two Merit & Needs-Based Scholarships for students entering Grade 11 in August 2026.

This scholarship programme is intended for outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional ability, strong character, leadership potential and a commitment to service, but whose families require financial support to access an ISU education.

The scholarship provides:

  • Partial tuition support of up to 75% for the two years of the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12). 
  • Funding levels are determined based on demonstrated financial need.
  • Eligible applicants should fall within the date of birth range 1 September 2009 – 31 August 2010.

The Beacon Scholarship

The International School of Uganda is pleased to offer the Beacon Scholarship at our school for students with strong leadership qualities.

The Beacon Scholarship is a change-maker programme that offers access for financially disadvantaged students to top tier secondary schools in their home country, and undergraduate programmes of study at world-class universities in the UK.

  • The programme includes leadership training and development, a strong mentoring structure, and a goal-setting performance management system.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are ‘Change-makers’ (ie: They are already making a difference now and have the capacity to take people with them.)
