Today’s forum focused on supporting our children to thrive in their learning to grow and reach their potential.
We started with a fun activation task to get us thinking - teachers use warm-up activities like this to activate students’ thinking and get them ready for learning, and it certainly worked to get us energised, thinking, talking and motivated.
After watching this video ISU Learns, we reflected on how we are seeing our children thrive at ISU.
We then had an opportunity to explore a few of the Programme Standards and Practices that the IB visiting team will use to evaluate our progress during their visit in April. In groups, we looked at IB Practices around Lifelong Learners and Student Support, and recorded our thoughts around how ISU is doing.
The discussion was so rich that we ran out of time. We will follow up with part 2 of this forum in mid-October to explore some of the science around helping our children thrive through learning.
