
Today was the third part of our parenting series titled Space to Grow. Méabh Gilbert led us through a discussion of how we set and manage boundaries. We began by reviewing a short part of the youtube video linked below (watch from 2.20 - 5.01). The speaker explains three ideas, realistic boundaries, that boundaries will be tested and that boundaries will need to change.
Méabh then shared with us eight big ideas to consider when we are thinking about setting and managing boundaries:
And finally, Méabh reminded us that:
“Children cannot be what they cannot see”
We must model our ability to set boundaries for ourselves, manage our own boundaries and emotions as we explored in our first workshop on emotional intelligence.
